Not going to lie I'm pretty impressed so far with the quality of all the shoes I've ordered but I'm not sure what makes these particular shoes mountain bike shoes. No extra protection whatsoever and the soles are not stiff. They are no stiffer than the standard Jefferson's I ordered and the only extra protection is maybe on the side of the shoe where it faces your crank arm if anything at all. Just seems like a regular skate shoe to me with a pro mountain biker's name attached to it. If you're looking for a shoe you can wear day to day and still mountain bike in this will probably work pretty well but if you want a tough mountain bike specific shoe that you're only going to wear for riding then look at the Culverts. On a side note that needs customer service does seem to be almost pretty horrible.
These shoes are way too narrow and there is no return service after several days. You can’t generate an RMA and shipping label without human intervention and they aren’t responding. Everyone at Etnies must have COVID.
JAMESON MID CRANK MTB
I just bought these, right before one of the best days of freeride mountain biking I have ever had in Southern Utah. I was worried the shoes might be a bit too thin, but they are actually perfect! They are super protective and have some hard, protective surfaces in places where you want them. However, pedal feel is where this shoe really shines. You can feel the pedals perfectly, while not ever feeling stabbed by pins. I sent many big drops and jumps and have lived the way the bike felt under my feet. They also grip loose dirt and rocks really well, essential for freeriding and mountain biking in general. If you ride flats, you need these shoes.
