I’ve always been a fan of Etnies since I was in high school which has been 15+ years. Finally came back and I’m so glad I did. Love the Calicut; they’re comfortable, and they look good with every outfit
The shoes are a 5/5. They are very much the same shoe from back in the day! I am happy with the sneakers. I wish Etnies put my shoes in a box before they mailed me them. They used a BAG , so the shoebox was destroyed. Luckily the shoes weren’t damaged! Use a cardboard box instead of those grey/white bags! I collect sneakers so the box is important to me also. I’m knocking one point for the box. Otherwise great sneakers!
1. Shoes don't match the color of the photo nor of the description. Why bother showing pictures of a red shoe If they arent even that color?
2. Quality control was terrible. I purchased 2 sets and both should have failed QC: frayed fabrics, creased seams. Very poor output.
Ironically I was scammed and bought fake barge LS shoes a few years ago. The fake shoes are better made than the real deal. Such a disappointment after owning a dozen pair of these over the years
My 10 year old tore through these shoes in less than 2 months of use. Sole just unglued. The previous brand we used (lakai) stood much better. This is just disappointing and feels like wasted money.
These shoes I've had for 4 years and the treads on the bottom are still perfectly intact the only thing is is I bought two pairs and in one of the pairs the front of the shoe kind of came unglued a little bit in the front but that was it they were perfect after 4 or 5 years. So the black souls were Etnies 5 years old. The grey souls are some of the best Vans on the market not even a year and already treads are done.
Bought these specifically for snowskating and man, they did not disappoint! They’re light, waterproof, comfy, warm, stylish and the sole is flat. Tha perfect recipe 👌🏼
Haven't wear them outside yet but they look nice. Prob will use them for casual awhile before skating. It's a bit tight compare to shoes at the same size. Should go half side up. Might be a ideal to have more colors and design for skate couples.
I ordered two hoodies. One black with a white logo and one olive green with the orange logo. Both Large. When they showed up, the olive green had a black logo and fit 2-3 sizes smaller than the black hoodie. On top of that, the olive green hoodie had a rip in the pouch. All customer service offered my was 15% back on the hoodie. The hoodie that I can’t even wear. Super upsetting considering I buy Etnies A LOT and this is the service I get. Super disappointing to say the least. Absolute garbage quality especially for hoodies that cost $100 bucks each. You just lost a long standing customer.
These are ready to skate pretty much out of the box, the sole is 300 nbs and is softer which adds to board feel on a cupsole shoe! That's pretty sick on it's own, Ventilation is perfect, weight is on spot, if coming from vulcanized shoes then these are the perfect transition shoes to cupsole shoes, they are also very stylish, they are better the the cheaper version like the Ollie and the watered down escapes, 100 % recommended
These are tanks! They take a while to brake in, they are very sturdy, the inner side wall is very sturdy too I like that, it could be improved the nose trend to crimp a little on the leather, also being a very stiff shoe I think adding some air pockets would be dope, they almost fell like my d3's , over all I love them .
Super comfy and look awesome but if you want more pussy than a cat shelter get a haircut like Brev Brevington.
I am still not sure if I got a knockoff pair of shoes, or if Etnies just has extremely poor standards for manufacturing quality. There are lose threads, blemishes that won't come off, unfinished seams, misaligned sole and vulcanized wrapper. These look and feel like a knockoff product.
I've emailed Etnies with pictures and am waiting to see if I can get a proper product from them. My brother has a pair of Maranas and says they don't suffer from any of these quality problems, so maybe your experience will be a good one. Maybe it's luck of the draw.
Colors are a bit different than the picture shows. The gold/yellow is more orange and the sole “gum” is also a bit darker, more brown, than the picture shows. Got a 6 in my barge ls shoes, but this one seems a bit wider and larger in length . Would personally go half a size down next time. Took me a few days to break in, little stiff at first. Still a great shoe, would recommend!
Im a true etnies fan through and through. Number one reason why is because no matter what you do whether you wear them in water whether you wear no socks they never stink. You never have to put anything in them to never stink. But to top that off they last longer and are more comfortable than most shoes that I've worn or had before. I absolutely fell in love with the purple ones. I wish they still had a purple bottoms instead of white as well but I was okay with white. But i love them.
Not sure if it’s a one off but used the shoe about 5 times and the sole is separating from the shoe already. No damage to shoe. It’s comfy but is following apart already less than a month old disappointing
These are my first MTB shoes so i have nothing to compare to really. But theyre definitley stiffer than skate shoes and are some sticky!!! I feel clipped in on flat pedals and they look rad too! MTB shoes are skate inspired but these look like the real deal. I come from a skateboard background so there was no other choice!
I am a VERY casual skateboarder and always loved skateboarding shoes for a multitude of reasons: reliability, durability, comfort, and style.
The Jameson from Etnies checks 2 boxes: comfort and style. easy in and out without undoing the laces, lightweight, and flexible. very comfortable.
however, quite unexpectedly it is NOT a durable shoe AT ALL.
Bear in mind of course I am NOT using this to skateboard, I use it socially and it is not an all-day shoe for me. I had hand-washed it carefully a couple of times, yet it is already falling apart as you can see in the pictures (less than a year of ownership). Got this shoe as a gift from my wife.
For years I’ve been riding in clapped out vans shoes and relapsing with bruised heels, sprained ankles. Theses shoes have enough feel to my BMX pedal yet enough ankle stability & protective padding wear I don’t sweat tail-whips anymore . I Would recommend to a friend.
