The Culvert Mid MTB is a mid-top enduro/downhill shoe designed for enhanced ankle support and protection on the trails. It shares the rugged build of the low-top Culvert , with sticky Michelin rubber for superior pedal grip and a Force Shield reinforced upper. The mid-cut collar adds coverage, while a hot-melted toe cap, 3M Thinsulate™ lining, and tongue gussets keep out moisture and debris. Lace pocket and a TPU Pedal Shank 2 in the midsole round out this shoe built to handle harsh MTB conditions in comfort and style.

Great MTB-specific Shoe

I bought these along with the regular/low cut Culverts. Overall they seem to be built tough. Etnies doesn't skimp on their build quality. You'll notice these are a bit on the stiff side, but that's for protection from things like rocks and other trail debris/obstacles (also your pedal pins). It also helps with transferring power to your pedals. Out the box these seemed a little more flexible and roomy than the low-Culverts (I didn't size up, just bought my regular size 9.5), but even the lows broke in after a dozen or so rides. I do like these a bit better than the lows, just from the mids having more ankle/foot coverage. Etnies skate shoes always impressed me, and they've repeated this with their MTB shoes also.

Sized too small

Shoe itself is awesome, however order a half to one full size bigger than you'd normally wear!

Super Stiff And Grippy!

If you like super grippy rubber and a stiff midsole this is definitely the shoe for you. I’d say this shoe would be most ideal for downhill or any type of riding with a lot of chunky terrain. For general pedaling and flow trails I would prefer my Semenuk Pros. I do love the classic skate shoe profile with a wider tongue and bit more padding all around. This is definitely a comfortable burly shoe that can handle anything you thow at it!
