Sal23 Skate Shoe
The Sal 23 came out of a specific moment in skate, early '90s, street skating was taking over, and the guys riding for etnies were setting the standard for how it looked and how it moved. Sal Barbier was one of them. The "23" on the side was his nod to Jordan, low-key and deliberate, the kind of detail that didn't need explaining if you were paying attention.
The reissue keeps everything: low-top suede upper, padded tongue and collar, molded ollie guard, STI Level 1 insole, 400 NBS rubber outsole. No modernisation, no updated silhouette, no tech added to justify the rerelease. It skates like the original because it is the original: clean boardfeel, solid grip, a profile that doesn't get in the way of what you're trying to do on the board.
Ships with extra laces and custom '90s shoebox and insole art. Runs wide, fits true to size. If you already know what the Sal 23 is, you don't need more than that.
